2020 State of Our Waters
March 31, 2020
9:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Massachusetts State House, Room 428
2020 State of Our Waters was cancelled due to Covid-19. However, all legislators in Southeastern Massachusetts received electronic copies of these fact sheets.
The legislative breakfast was intended to provide opportunities for meaningful interactions between residents and their legislators, educate both groups about critical water-related challenges and successful projects, and model democracy in action. The event would have begun with time for informal conversation, followed by presentations by representatives from our member organizations and legislators, and capped off by small group visits to legislators’ offices from noon to 1 p.m.
Topics:
- water quality, particularly as related to stormwater and wastewater;
- water quantity, especially balanced and equitable use and withdrawal; and
- reconnection of waters to their sources, which benefits the fishing economy, human health and safety, and aquatic wildlife.
